Causes of Fibromyalgia
- Abnormal pain signal processing in brain.
- Increased sensitivity to pain (central sensitization).
- Changes in brain chemicals.
Treatment of Fibromyalgia
- No cure, focus on symptom management
- Over-the-counter (OTC) or prescription medicine to relieve pain
- Exercises like stretches or strength training.
- Sleep therapy.
- Cognitive behavioural therapy
- Stress management therapy
- Antidepressants
