Urinary Tract Infection
What is Urinary Tract Infection?
- A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection affecting any part of the urinary system — kidneys, ureters, bladder, or urethra.
- Most UTIs involve the lower urinary tract, especially the bladder and urethra.
- Women are more likely to develop UTIs than men due to anatomical differences.
- UTIs occur when bacteria enter the urinary tract through the urethra and multiply in the bladder.
